The launch preparation work for the Maverick Keyword Researcher is taking longer than expected. Integrate tweetmeme with twitterfeed

If you use twitterfeed to sync your blogs with your Twitter account, you could easily integrate tweetmeme retweet counters by adding the code “RT @tweetmeme” to your twitterfeed feeds.

Once you have added the tweetmeme retweet code to the prefix field of your twtterfeed feed, you tweets will be counted by tweetmeme.

This saves me a lot of time so that I do not need to manually post my blog posts to Twitter with the tweetmeme retweet code manually.

Twitter Traffic Machine Review

I have been applying what I have learnt from the Twitter Traffic Machine for over a month now. When I started on 10 April 2009, I had 2258 followers. After using the tips and tricks in the Twitter Traffic Machine for 2.5 months, my followers have risen to 4024, at the time of this posting.

My followers have increased by 1766 in 45 days. That’s an average of 39 new followers per day. A lot of people are promoting the Twitter Traffic Machine on Twitter with an ad that goes something like “Thanks for the follow! Would you like to get 16,000 Followers in 90 days and make money? http://bit.ly/………”.

I doubt I would get 16000 followers in 90 days and I don’t really care. The “make money” portion of the Twitter Traffic Machine is to promote the eBook in your automated Twitter message to your new followers. That’s great for the author but if do not wish to promote his eBook on Twitter, you could promote something else.

Some of the tips in this eBook are pretty common knowledge for advanced Twitter users. I did learn a few new things about Twitter and Twitter tools that I have not tried. So if you think you know it all about Twitter, you may still find some gems in his eBook.

The author, Bill Cosby, demonstrates his system of automating the posting of great content to your Twitter account and other automation aspects of his system through 5 + videos. They are really easy to follow and implement. I got up and running within an hour.

The only drawbacks I see with this system is that you need to make sure your content sources are relevant to your niche. Some of the automated ways of getting content might get you a lot of unrelated posts, which may make your profile look “spammy”. I also wish the author could ellaborate more on how to make money with other products instead of just plugging his own.

All in all, for only $27, the Twitter Traffic Machine is a great buy.

3 Ways to Make Money From Twitter

1. Magpie

Magpie is an ad network for Twitter. They’ll post tweets to your Twitter account on a predefined ratio of tweets to ads. You could select to post ads as often as 1 ad after you post 1 Tweet or as spaced out as 1 ad after 200 Tweets. This is all done automatically for you so you don’t have to do anything.

Magpie’s ads come in pay per view, pay per click, pay per sale and pay per lead. You may choose to manually select the ads you wish to post to your Twitter account or let Magpie handle it automatically. Another great feature is to prepend the Magpie ads with a custom text like “ad:”.

2. Twittad

Twittad does not post Tweets to your Twitter account. Instead, it displays a background image to your Twitter account. Twittad calculates the estimated monthly ad cost of your Twitter account and you may edit that amount to whatever amount you think your Twitter is worth. The more targeted followers, the more money your Twitter account is worth to advertisers.

Mine’s worth only $265.71 per month with my 3000 or so followers at the time of this posting. Maybe my Twitter account would be worth $2650 per month with 30000 followers? Hmmm.. Who knows?

3. Twtad

Twtad is very similar to Magpie but it isn’t automatic. You have to click on the ads and post them to your Twitter account(s). The ads seem limited in my account. I hope the number of ads grows because I only see a few ads related to my target audience.

Twitter API Background Image Updating Bug?

I am creating a PHP script to automatically change my Twitter account’s background image and profile image. So far, the code is working for the background image change but Twitter’s servers seem to be slow in recognizing the changes.

I have submitted a report to the Twitter API team about this issue and I hope they can tell me why it isn’t working.

My script is able to upload the background image to Twitter but it does not get displayed instantly. I end up seeing no background image and just my Twitter background colour. My Twitter account’s XML file does not display the right background file but if I click on the “save changes” button in “settings -> design”, the background magically appears.

I hope this issue would be fixed soon because I would love to automatically update my Twitter profile’s avatar automatically with 3rd party services like Daily Mugshot and Gravatar. It would also be great to randomly update my Twitter background everyday too.

Let Others Retweet Your Tweets the Easy Way

Retweeting is when you copy someone else’s Twitter tweet and post it as your own. Usually, people add “RT”, “Retweet”, “Retweeting” or “Reading”. Blogging Bits has a great article on how, why and when to Retweet. My article will focus on how to allow other people to retweet your tweets easily with the free service, Please Retweet Me.

Please Retweet Me replaces your normal way of sending manual tweets. Instead of logging into Twitter.com to send your tweets, go to Please Retweet Me instead.

Please Retweet Me adds something like “http://pleasert.me/XXX” to your tweet. When someone clicks on that link, they will be forwarded to Twitter with a message with “RT @yourtwitterusername” and “http://pleasert.me/XXX”.

I find this a lot more convenient for people to retweet your tweets. Not everyone knows how to retweet yet and this could encourage them to try it.

SocialToo Puts a Stop to Automated DMs in Twitter

I DO NOT disagree with SocialToo’s decision to stop automated DMs on their site but I disagree with their decision to block users who send automated DMs from other sites.

There are pros and cons of sending automated direct messages on Twitter. I believe the number one reason for auto sending welcome direct messages, auto following and auto unfollowing people on Twitter is to save TIME! Who has the time to manually do all this once you receive a lot of new followers everyday?

Is Twitter Making RSS Readers Redundant?

Don Reisinger wrote an interesting article on how he uses Twitter to replace RSS readers. Personally, I still use RSS readers from my Windows machine and I don’t think Twitter is going to replace that any time soon.

However, I do understand that this Twitter phenomenon is something that I cannot ignore. Instead of using Twitter to post nonsensical things about my daily life, I have started using twitterfeed to post my latest blog posts to my Twitter account. Another service that does something like twitterfeed is TweetLater . What twitterfeed and TweetLater do is they take your RSS feeds and post the latest contents of your feeds to your Twitter account automatically.

You may grab content from more than 1 RSS feed and post it into a single Twitter account. The end result is you have a new RSS feed that is made up of 2 RSS feeds because every Twitter account has a RSS feed too. The possibilities are endless.

I have experimented with combining all the RSS feeds of my site, Oasis Fanatic, to create a “site summary” of all the latest updates. All the latest updates are now posted to the Oasis Fanatic Twitter account. I will be able to generate more traffic from Twitter to my web site with this method because some Twitter savvy users will check out the list of updates on my site from Twitter and click through to my web site.

Get More Twitter Followers with Tweeter Getter?

I stumbled upon Tweeter Getter, a viral marketing tool that claims to increase your number of Twitter followers by the thousands. “15625 new Twitter followers” is what the creator claims you will get if you use his system. Some people say this thing works like a charm while others say it is crap.

The creator of Tweeter Getter tries to get you to buy his Twitter report when you leave his site. I won’t buy his report unless I have good results from his viral system.

Let’s see how Tweeter Getter works on my Twitter account.

Twitter's Following Limit

I think I have hit Twitter’s following limit. At the time of this post, I have 1216 followers and I am following 1881 people in my Twitter account.

According to Twitter, I must “balance your follower/following ratio in order to follow more people”. Find out more about Twitter limits here:

I am in the process of deleting people who do not follow me back from my Twitter account. The current following limit for my account is 2000. Let’s see if this number can be reduced if I reduce the number of people I am following and increase the number of followers.
