Google AdWords API Boots Keyword Research Apps

I received an email from the Google AdWords team on 22 October 2011 saying:
Hi Vince,
Thank you for your continued patience.
We apologize for late reply. Please note, we are disapproving tokens used primarily used for Keyword Research. Because of this, we’re unable to approve your developer token request.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
The Google AdWords API Team
This has confirmed my worst fears. I can no longer use the Google AdWords API in my Maverick Keyword Researcher application because it does not meet the Google AdWords API minimum functionality requirement.
I have no desire to create an application to create and manage Google AdWords campaigns externally. Unless Google AdWords releases a keyword research API, I do not see any future with the Google AdWords API.
What a shame! I loved using the Google AdWords API while it lasted. I guess I have to use the SEMRush API from now on.
