"If you can get along with everyone and everyone loves you, then you don't stand for much. A person who stands his ground for his principles and won't compromise his integrity is not loved by everyone."
- Larry Winget
1. Click on the “Add an Image” icon at the top right of the “Post” box.
WordPress shoud simply create a button for this instead of adding it to the top right in my opinion.
2. Choose file to upload or enter the URL of the picture
For this example, I shall click on the “Choose file to upload” button to upload a picture from my PC to my WordPress blog.
3. Select the picture from your computer
Click on the picture you wish to upload to your blog and click on the “Open” button if you are using Windows.
Wait for your picture to complete its upload and thumbnail generation process. WordPress creates a small and medium thumbnail for you automatically.
4. Enter the picture information and insert the picture into your post
Usually, I only enter the Title. If the picture is really big, I use the “File URL” in the “Link URL” field and check on either “Thumbnail” or “Medium” to display a thumbnail with a link to the full-sized picture.
If the picture is small enough to be displayed within my content area, I click on “None” for the “Link URL” field and check on “Full size”.
For the alignment, choose either left or right if you want to wrap your text around the picture. Check on “Center” if you just want to display a picture in the centre of the page. When you don’t want to do anything fancy with the picture, simply check on “None”.
Check out my post on WordPress picture alignment secrets for more information on aligning your pictures in WordPress.
Lastly, click on the “Insert into Post” button to add the picture into your post.
