You're better off staying with the embedded squares/rectangles in your content, or leaderboard/468s between posts in my opinion. All the best in your money making ventures by the way - I too am in a similar position. I'm now working on my online projects fulltime, after becoming sick and tired of the ratrace of IT jobs. He shaped it like a right triangle, I think (hypotenuse and all), and it seemed to focus near the top left side of the content.
