Wealthy Affiliate Review Part 1

I just joined the Wealthy Affiliate membership site 2 days ago. I’ve been looking around in the membership area and so far I am not so impressed. I can’t give a full review on the Wealthy Affiliate membership site yet because I have not used their "coaching" services and all their keyword lists.

Wealthy Affiliate is for affiliate program marketers who want to promote affiliate programs with PPC search engines like Google AdWords. I personally didn’t see any information about promoting affiliate programs with Yahoo Search Marketing. I only see Google AdWords related information in there.

Here’s what you’ll get in the Wealthy Affiliate membership site:

  1. "Personal Coaching" in the forums. I have seen members sending the 2 owners of Wealthy Affiliate their Google AdWords campaign details privately for them to critique. This could be useful to learn how they optimize their campaigns.
  2. Keyword lists of a bunch of affiliate programs. I am not sure how they came up with their keywords lists. Its just a long list of keywords in a text file. There are no indications of the amount of searches made for these keywords, neither are they arranged in ad groups. There is still a lot of work for you to do in order to use these keyword lists. I personally wouldn’t simply take their keywords and assume it will make me loads of money. I ran them through my keyword software to see the exact search statistics.
  3. A simple get started guide. I don’t like the guide at all. It is very vague and I have complained about it in the forums. You’ll be better off reading a guide like Google AdWords 123 and then join a forum like Wealthy Affiliate if you think you need a support group.

Yesterday I had a Jeet Kune Do class. Before I went for the class I was reading a bit of Bruce Lee’s "Jeet Kune Do" book. I have to tell you its almost impossible to learn Jeet Kune Do from those sketches Bruce Lee made. You can’t see the full picture from the book. You have to have someone show you how its done.

In the internet marketing industry, I am seeing a shift to creating info-products with screen recording software. Almost everything that is done on a computer can be recorded with a screen recorder. A lot of things cannot be explained effectively through words alone. I was expecting much more than what I am seeing in the Wealthy Affiliate membership site right now.

I have very high expectations of someone I pay to be my coach. Paying $29.99 per month isn’t going to get me a coach of the highest level. If you can afford it, you might want to pay someone like Perry Marshall to train you how to get your campaigns in order. I believe my expectations were a bit too high for the low monthly fees I am paying right now.

I have a list of questions to ask the guys in there… I am waiting for them to answer my list of questions. If they give me satisfactory answers, I will consider extending my membership if they don’t kick me out for my hard hitting questions that is!

Hi Vincent,

After reading your review on Wealthy Affiliate I decided to chance it and sign up. I was very impressed as the forum was full of good information and the resources and keyword lists were there as they said. I have already asked questions and received prompt responses with quality answers. I am fairly new to internet marketing so I find that their support is quite helpful. Their expertise seems to be PPC. I checked out your posts within their forum and I felt that you could have been a little less demanding, but I guess you were probing for answers. I personally would recommend this site, but to each their own.

Thanks for the review Vincent.

Sent an email to WA before signing up. I am a complete newbie, and whilst I have not started as yet, I got a detailed response, answering my questions exactly – not the usual vague pre formed reply. I think you may be being a little hard, but its good to know that there are people like you out there who ask the difficult questions and thereby keep (hopefully) integrity high.Regards

I remember emailing them before I signed up asking them something like “what happens if everyone uses the same keyword lists? wouldn’t it make it extremely competitive to bid on?”.

I got no reply from them but I joined the site to see what it was all about. Its good for newbies but once you have learnt the newbie stuff… good luck learning the more advanced stuff in there….

I’ve been a member of Wealthy Affiliate since mid January 2006 and I have to say that I have been thoroughly impressed by the site. I was a complete beginner when I signed up, had no idea about affiliate marketing, building websites, or how to make money online. In early February I was able to post my about my first Sale in the Wealthy affiliate success forum. There are probably nearly 1000 success posts from members praising the owners Kyle and Carson, and the entire site.

If you are skeptical about the value of Wealthy Affiliate, take a chance and spend $30 bucks to check it out. I guarantee that you will learn a hell of a lot from WA. I’m well on my way to earning consistent sales. I’ve made over $200 per day on multiple occasions and I’ve been able to average about $120 / day for the past month and a half. It’s great making an extra $3600 per month. Hopefully I can join the more senior members at WA who are making in excess of $500 per day, who have quit their jobs, and are doing this full time.

There is nothing out there like this. I’ve wasted nearly $1000 on other programs, books and plain out scams and they don’t compare to what you can learn from Kyle and Carson.

Thanks Marie,

You joined WA when you were a complete newbie. I joined after being at other affiliate membership sites therefore my expectations were a bit higher.

I joined to ask about building landing pages and couldn’t find any satisfactory answers. Then they released their ebook “Beating AdWords” with all the landing page information in that ebook. So now I know why they weren’t willing to share that information at that time because they wanted to release their ebook and charge people for it.

Kyle and Carson do have great things to share beginners to intermediates. The advanced stuff are not revealed in my opinion.

Sincerely,

Vincent

Just for the record, Wealthy Affilaite has grown a lot since Vincent has left…or should I say got kicked out. There are now 5 different website templates to choose from and 3 completely pre built “feeder sites” – with many more on the way.

They also have a lot more featured than when they did when Vincent got kicked out. There are courses on building opt in lists, Google’s recent changes, article writing, case studies, and much, much more.

It seems that Vincent had a personal goal to get kicked out of Wealthy Affilaite, and that is evident by his negative attitude from the beginning. Isn’t it ironic how Vincent seems to be the only one on his blog (and one of the few, if not the ONLY person on the whole internet to make negative comments about Wealthy Affilaite?

I have better things to do than to join a membership site for the sole purpose of getting kicked out. There are people who are unhappy with Wealthy Affiliate but they just don’t say it like I do.

Wealthy Affiliate seems to be helping some people and that is a good thing. I wish them all the best but they are not for me.

OK,

I joined Wealthy Affiliate around the same time you did Vincent and I agree with you. I observed the same thing you did. Keywords all bundled up making no sense and more. I decided to leave after about two months.

I here now that things are better now, and reading these posts have convinced me of it. I was thinking about joining up again and see how much it has improved.

I was also looking at another alternative called TheProfitMonster.com

I have read one negative and one positive on them.

What do you think?

Wealthy Affiliate has been a godsend for me and my family. I have tried many other programs online and have never experienced the support of the loyalty that Kyle/Carson offer at Wealthy Affiliate. These guys are awesome and it is has only been getting better! I have made my first $100/day and am working towards doing this full time. I disagree with the negative comments, but I have only been a member for 3 months.

Before I joined Wealthy Affiliate I spent nearly 4 months looking for programs online and I couldn’t agree with Keith More.. Vincent Rich is the only person that I have come across online that wasn’t happy with Wealthy Affiliate.

For the record. Wealthy Affiliate is the best Internet Marketing resource online. I’m not trying to get you to join up here, I’m only trying to stop anyone from listening to anything negative about WA. Anyone who disagrees is probably a competitor of some sort, but in my opinion there is no competition to Wealthy Affiliate because they offer far more value than anything out there.

Just look at the thousands of success posts in their member forum. You won’t find that anywhere.. and that’s a promise.

There are many promises being made by so-called gurus and it is therefore important to ask around and do your homework.
